I am a very, very bad food allergy eliminator! Actually, I haven't been eating up tons of allergens, but what I have not been doing is logging my food or taking daily measurements.
My boyfriend and clothes size both swear that the weight lost since I first began eliminating the top 20 most common food allergens from my diet has mostly stayed off. And yes, it mostly has, but my tummy got flatter in that first month and skin clearer than it is today. Why? Because I have been cheating, of course!
A regular (i.e. not allergy free) chocolate here, a glass of yeasty wine there, a dash of pepper, a taste of corn syrup, a shampoo complete with wheat and soy.
I am just so excited that tomorrow I should have my answers once and for all--I hope! The allergy doc I have chosen is HIGHLY recommended on YELP and I am feeling pretty good about his office--especially considering they made sure I contacted my insurance to see that it was covered and called me today to forewarn me of my $40 copay.
My best guesses for what they will find: a mold allergy, a dust mite allergy . . . any standard airborne, runny-nose-causing allergen.
As for food allergies: yeast, gluten, soy and sulfites if they can test for them. Possibly peanuts, but that one seems more far-fetched.
And what if I do not seem to have any food allergies? I don't buy it. My tummy and skin seem to scream otherwise. If they do not find them tomorrow, I will keep searching, they are there, I just do not know what they are.
